A viral video circulating on social media claims that former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, met with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, at his residence in Yola.
The video was shared on X User by @delaniosoba with a caption that reads:
“Calling politicians unprintable names doesn’t mean they are not friends. Be wise. This is Omoyele Sowore with Nuhu Ribadu in Ribadu’s house in Yola. Don’t go and kill yourself fighting another person’s fight.”
Another X user, @harreceipts, posted an image from the video with the caption:
“Peter Obi is working with APC, he is in bed with corrupt people.”
The image has since garnered 24,600 views, 629 reposts, 16 quotes, 1,698 likes, and 16 bookmarks as of April 24, 2025.
THE CLAIM

THE FINDINGS
Findings by FactCheck247 reveal that the claim is false.
When FactCheck247 subjected key frames from the video to a Google Reverse Image Search, results showed that the footage dates back to early 2018. The earliest version of the video was found on Worship Media Television (WMTV), where it was uploaded on June 18, 2018. The same footage was also traced to Omoyele Sowore’s official Facebook page, confirming it was posted in 2018.
THE VERDICT
The claim is false. Although Sowore and Ribadu met, the video is from 2018, and does not depict a recent meeting.
